Frezghi & John (UoM)Two formerly homeless men are celebrating after finding work with the University of Manchester, as it honours its pledge to the city’s Homelessness Charter. Frezghi Teklemichael (29), arrived in the UK as an asylum seeker from Eritrea, where he had previously worked as a teacher.

Following a successful application for asylum, he became homeless after financial support from the National Asylum Support Service ended. John Jackson, who is 23 and from Ancoats, had been unemployed for over 12 months and was living in the homeless tent community inManchester
