The Works in Moss Side has helped over 4,000 people into employment since it was established by The University of Manchester in 2011.
The existing Works building, located on Alexandra Road South, will be closed for refurbishment from 30th November 2018 and is scheduled to re-open in January 2019 with One Manchester, the local housing provider, running a new service from the site which will offer:
- Advice & guidance
- Work placements with local employers
- Volunteering opportunities
- Training in a range of occupations
- Skills for Employment
- Money advice
- Resource area

In addition to the new service being offered by One Manchester in Moss Side, The Works is moving to a new site in Ardwick; at the heart of the University’s campus and the major construction projects taking place. The new service based at the Salvation Army building in Ardwick will support local residents into construction training and jobs with major contractors working locally.
